.

.We had our last recording session for the new Paradox album recently down at Wavefield Recording Studios with Brian Casey Music on the desk. One guitar track using the nameless Paradox guitar we found many years ago (we still don't know th...e make of it but it has appeared on the last two albums and some nice female vocal harmonies. All in all a very productive final recording day which initially started 1 year and 4 months ago at Brian's studio. We are also happy to announce the album name - "CHAPTERS". In the age of 1 track digital singles and EP's, we thought we would keep it old school and do a full length 14 track album. 12 tracks were recorded at Wavefield Recording Studios in West Cork and 2 extra tracks at Mike's (Paradox drummer and Pete's brother) studio in Canada. First single from the album coming 12/12/14, teaser already up online to check out right here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAjc7c7vFS0

.

.So here it is!! A small teaser to the brand new Paradox single titled 'Nothing Lasts'. The full length song will also be available to stream online for Free with a music video to follow. Be sure to share the teaser on your page if you like the track of course . Special thanks to multi -tasker musician, engineer and producer Brian Casey Music for his hard work down at Wavefield Recording Studios over the past year. This is just a small sample of what's to come. New Paradox album coming early 2015. But first let's focus on getting the single out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAjc7c7vFS0

.

We're happy to announce that the brand new Paradox single titled 'Nothing Lasts' will be officially released on December 12th 2014 and this is an invite for everyone to hear the track in it's entirety. We'll have a small teaser up online shortly and we'll be sure to keep you updated before the single's release.
The track itself takes a different approach to any previous Paradox sound with some nice Cello carrying the song along! A BIG thank you to Maeve Kelly for her flawless Cello playing which really brought the song to life and added a whole new vibe and atmosphere. The new Paradox album has been a working progress for 1 year and 2 months down at
Wavefield Recording Studios in Bantry, West Cork (Ireland)...with multi tasking musician, engineer and producer Brian Casey Music on the desk. 'Nothing Lasts' was initially recorded nearly 1 year ago as one of the new albums earlier tracks with Pete Mac playing drums, guitars and bass. Long term drummer and brother Mike Mac is currently in Canada recording his own solo album however Mike does drum on various tracks on the upcoming album.
We've been in two minds about which song to put out first but we feel 'Nothing Lasts' best represents where the band is at musically of course :) We're proud of the track and hope you guys will enjoy it too! The song will be available everywhere online on Dec 12th from Bandcamp to iTunes, Spotify and many more. It will also be available to stream in full online for Free. While the new album will be available in CD format as well as digital the single Nothing Lasts will only be available digitally to download. Small teaser on the way and more updates very soon... Cheers everyone :)

We are happy to be part of the upcoming Sir Henry's exhibition which runs from July 9 to September 27 at @ UCC College Cork For anyone who doesn't know Sir Henry's in Cork City is probably the most remembered Irish venue which opened in 1978 and closed it's doors in 2003. One of the venues biggest claim to fame was on August 20, 1991, when Sonic Youth opened their European tour with Nirvana. Some scenes were featured in the documentary 1991: The Year Punk Broke. Paradox were lucky enough to play Sir Henry's in 2001 as part of the longest running Alternative club in Cork Freakscene. Well worth checking out this exhibition in UCC if anyone is in Cork over the next few months. Here's the event page - https://www.facebook.com/events/1395410257350528/

Shonen Knife for their Cork date at Crane Lane, Cork as part of their Overdrive European Tour For anyone who doesn't know Shonen Knife joined Nirvana on their ‘Nevermind’ tour in Japan and trailblazed a path for women in music, inspiring legions of bands. Favourites of Kurt Cobain, John Peel, Thurston Moore and many more... think Japanese Female Ramones and you have the music of Shonen Knife. Can't wait! More on this soon

Also tracks from Anto Yau, Pete McGowan, Clare Sands, Stew Dixon, Anna Mitchell, Mick Flannery,…"

.

We've been playing a lot of shows this month for the 20th Anniversary of Kurt Cobain. However around this time 12 years ago (April 5th 2002 to be exact) Layne Staley of Alice in Chains also passed away. Alice in Chains have always been a huge influence on us as a band and Layne's death was tragic to say the least. That year the Grammy's failed to mention him in artists that died that year. I think this says a lot of the music industry sadly at this time. Layne was a talented, misunderstood artist with a huge voice and he will never be forgotten.
