Just a quick note
to wish everyone a happy new year. Thanks as always for
your continued support throughout 2013. This year has
been a busy year for the band. The Mr. Bureaucracy music
video picked up 3 nominations this year at the Berlin
Music Video Awards back in April, The Portobello Film
Festival in London last September and the Dublin
International Short Film and Music Festival last October.
Paradox have also been back on the live circuit this year
playing festivals in Dublin as well as various shows in
their home town of Cork with fellow rockers Screenreader.
The band also supported Irish Grunge legends Kerbdog last
October. Paradox drummer Mike Mac is currently overseas
so we'd like to thank drummer Sean Conway for jumping
behind the kit for the shows this year! Lot's of fun.
Cheers to the guys from Screenreader for another very enjoyable show at the Crane Lane, Cork last Wednesday. For those who missed it we joined forces on stage and opened with Nirvana's Breed with Brian from Screenreader playing second guitar and bass player Dave playing second bass.. Yes two bass players on stage. It was awesome! Next time we might try two drummers who knows. More pics and a live video thanks to Sean Conway coming soon..
guys,Paradox are happy to announce that we will be
joining fellow Cork band Screenreader for a second outing
at The Crane Lane Theatre in Cork on Wednesday November
27th. Late show kicking off at 11.30pm. Both bands
previously played together last March as part of the
'Where is the Alternative' at the Crane Lane which
included Screenreader drummer Andy playing for the
Paradox set and some double bass action for Screenreader
with Paradox bassist Jette jumping up as a second bass
player for their last song. Pete also played second
guitar. Sean Conway will be drumming this time around for
Paradox to fill in for Mike Mac who is in Canada. We'll
see what happens this time :)
Just wanted to give a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who came to see us play with Kerbdog last night. We can honestly say it was one of the most enjoyable shows we have ever played in Cork. We didn't realize so many people still liked this kind of music here We have a new found faith in this city. Cork Rocks big time!! Special thanks to Kerbdog for having us and who rocked the house as alwa...ys. Also big thanks to Sean Conway for playing his debut Cork show with us and for filling in on drum duties while Mike Mac is abroad. And finally thanks to all the guys who rocked out with us up front and bought our album. You Rock!! (Yes the word rock has been mentioned here a lot) Some awesome photos (thanks to Sarah O'Mahony) and hopefully some live video footage coming soon.

In other news....
The New Alternative has arrived!! In
a digital age where short lived one hit singles are being
nicely marketed to the impressionable mainstream and
everything in rock and beyond appears to be superficial
and short lived there's a growing number of really good
alternative bands that need to be heard :) These bands
are independent, hard working musicians that play music
regardless of any current trends in the music scene.
Share with your friends, spread the word... and thanks
for listening :) Download the entire album FOR FREE on
bandcamp at - https://thenewalternative.bandcamp.com/ Featuring
in no particular order - Noiseheads, Social Pretender, Screenreader, PANDORAS BLISS, PARADOX, The K., Senium, Betty Poison,
Nova, Cable35, Disagony, 24 Broken Amps,

.This coming Saturday in London! The Mr. Bureaucracy music video has been nominated at the Portobello Film Festival and will be screened at Westbourne Studios. Free admission and doors open 12 midday. Cheers guys!
Pete was recording some new demos at Wavefield Recording Studios recently. No plans as of yet to release anything but plenty of new songs and sounds in the pipeline
The Paradox track 'Repress
Excess' from the album Corporate Pollution was recently used on the
soundtrack for the Canadian horror movie Truth which was screened at the Cannes Festival
last year and also won the Royal Reel Award at the
Canadian International Film Festival 2013. The movie can
now be streamed in full HD online directly from YouTube.
We think it's a pretty cool movie. 'Repress Excess'
appears in an intense scene on the second half of the
movie. Talks of a soundtrack release are also in the
works but not confirmed yet. Here's the movie for your
viewing pleasure - www.youtube.com/watch Enjoy :)
You can also listen to 'Repress Excess' in full on the 'Corporate Pollution' bandcamp page - paradoxgrunge.bandcamp.com/track/repress-excess
